It's A Boy!... And Another... And 3 Girls...

My husband and I have been experiencing the joy of pregnancy... third hand... it's been a dog pregnancy. Yes. Motherhood entered my home... via my dog. How do I feel about this you ask? In a noise? "Whew!" Motherhood is nowhere in my near future unless the good Lord decides to pull a terrible prank on me, my husband, and the tiny implant in my arm that wards off any potential diaper changing.

My dear pup entering the realm of maternity has made me think though! I've been completely in awe of the sudden instinctive maturity that Ella, my puppy-momma, established virtually over night! It's made me think about my dear husband and me... Will he one day trade his playstation for a diaper station? His motorcyle-wishes for sanitizing dishes? Will I be okay with trading my play money purchases of shoes and sonic drinks with checkups and pampers? Do we take that leap into undisputed adulthood when the stick says yes or when you hear the cry for the first time? Does the instantaneous growth occur without us even realizing it? I don't know these answers, and I probably won't for a while. But I kinda' look forward to the day when I can look back at this entry and roll my eyes at my complete oblivion. I doubt I'll find it cute and ignorant - I'll probably find it rather humilating. I can see it now: future me, with more grey hair, covered in formula and/or playdough, wearing the same pair of sweats for the 3rd day in a row, discheveled hair, and a profound eye roll and head shake of embarassment that I didn't forsee the obvious "bliss" that comes with children. And right now... I think I'm pretty okay with that. :)
